Whether you suffer from digestive issues or simply want to support your overall health, taking steps to improve your digestive system is key. In this video blog, I mention at the start that I am not going to cover nutrition here because it is such a big topic and I think it’s best to personalize nutritional tips to the individual or at least to the season.

I focus on tips to healthy eating habits and demonstrate some acupressure massage that you can do regularly.

Some key points:

  1. Chew your food extra well.
  2. Practice mindful eating. That means focus on your eating while eating, paying attention to the taste, texture, and even feelings you have about the food you’re enjoying. Gratitude for the food also helps calm the nervous system and support digestion.
  3. Go for a walk after eating to help digestive activity.
  4. Don’t eat right before going to bed.
  5. Massage your abdomen in a circular clockwise (down on your left, up on your right) direction.
  6. Do acupressure on points ST25, REN6, REN12, ST36, SP3, SP4, SP6, LI4, LI11.
