There is a lot of information and misinformation about COVID-19 right now. Personally, I find it a bit overwhelming, don’t you? I have no idea what else is going on in the world at this time. Is Hong Kong still in political turmoil? Are there still pipeline protests (we thought those were inconveniencing!)? How’s the Middle East doing? Are there tornados, hurricanes, floods, drought, fires anywhere? I have no idea. But I get it, this is huge. So, where do you get good information about the new coronavirus from?
Not Facebook, generally. Not Twitter or Instagram, generally. And, not even from a vast number of blogs and chat rooms out there. Go to the informed sites. The official ones, like these:
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
BC Government COVID-19 self-assessment tool
Also, note that you don’t necessarily benefit from checking the status every 5 minutes, and watching the news all day is STRESSFUL! Once a day is probably enough (or less if you are not out in public). Too much becomes overwhelming and stress doesn’t help. As one of my patients stated, last he checked, “neither fear nor panic have medicinal value.”
And, if you have questions for me about your health concerns (including those not COVID-19 related), contact me. I’ll answer what I can via email or set up an online appointment to discuss in more detail.
