vancouver allergies natural health treatment I’ve never done a video blog before, so here’s my first one. With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting people worldwide right now, life is upside-down for many of us. As we try to protect our vulnerable citizens and our medical facilities and system from getting overwhelmed, life is not “as usual,” including the ways that we normally try to keep ourselves healthy. Our gyms are closed, our yoga studios are closed (my favourite one permanently closed!), healthcare providers’ offices closed, and we’re having to find creative ways to stay healthy.

Allergy season is here

The start to Vancouver’s allergy season is here. If you have spring allergies, you know that because you’ve likely already been feeling it. But his year is harder to manage that usual. Usually you can just walk around with a pocketful of tissues. You can sneeze or cough or sniffle without having everyone around you jump away while giving you a dirty glance or a look of terror. Not this year.

Since I know many of you are suffering with allergies, I thought I’d offer some simple things you can do at home to help you manage your allergies. In this video, I’ll show you some acupressure points you can use to help alleviate some symptoms, some foods you want to limit or avoid, some foods you might try to help, and a few supplements you might consider.

Before you watch the video, here are some important disclaimers to consider:

  • If you are on medications, talk with a qualified health professional before trying any supplements I recommend.
  • If you have food allergies or sensitivities, don’t take the things I recommend here if you know you have a reaction to that food; OF COURSE
  • If you have a complete medical condition or if these ideas don’t work, then contact me to find out about treatment options (which for now includes phone or video consultations).
