Steamed Pears for Dry Cough
Though it’s no longer cold and flu season, some people I’ve seen are suffering from a lingering dry cough. The cough could also be from allergies. So, in addition to treating the immune system, what can you do? How about a Traditional Chinese Medicine food cure?

Steamed Pears Recipe
Ingredients
1 Chinese pear (or you can substitute in any green-skinned pear)
1-2 Tbsp of honey
Directions
- Cut the top off the pear and use a corer to remove the core.
- Fill the hole left by the removal of the core with honey.
- Place the top back on the pear.
- Steam the pear for 45-60 minutes, until it is very soft.
- Let pear cool for 10-15 minutes before enjoying.
- Do this for a few nights in a row to see if your dry cough improves.
